The University of Texas at Tyler invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank specializing in the area of Educational Psychology and Research Methodology starting Fall 2017. This faculty member is embedded within a teacher education program. We are particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated expertise in (a) educational psychology and research methodologies, (b) teaching a mix of blended, online classes, and face-to-face courses, (c) working in local area schools, and (d) writing and working on grants. This is a full time tenure-track position with a nine-month academic year appointment in the education program in the School of Education within the College of Education and Psychology at the University of Texas at Tyler. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is contingent upon funding by the university.

Responsibilities for the position include (a) teaching graduate and undergraduate educational psychology and research method courses, (b) advising and mentoring graduate students, (c) pursuing an active scholarly research agenda, (d) actively supporting local schools, (e) seeking grant funds for research and teaching activities, and (f) contributing to the university, the East Texas community, and the profession through service and outreach activities.

Required qualifications for the position include (a) an earned a doctorate in Educational Psychology with coursework in Research Methodologies by September 1, 2017, (b) evidence of university teaching and research activity appropriate for an assistant professor, and (c) a philosophical stance that values diversity and has a commitment to social justice. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in (a) teaching blended or online classes as well as face-to-face courses, (b) demonstrated ability to conduct a focused and sustained program of research and scholarship, and (c) a commitment to diversity and social justice.
