The Educational Psychology program at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position beginning in the 2017-2018 academic year: Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology with a specialization in Educational Measurement. UNM is the state’s flagship research university as well as a Hispanic-Serving Institution classified a Carnegie Research University with Highest Research Activity. UNM also has strong connections with 23 tribal nations located within New Mexico. As such, successful candidates must be committed to working with broadly diverse student and community populations.

This position extends the educational psychology program’s recent hiring of three experts in quantitative methodology and the development of the Methodology Group @ UNM. We seek a colleague whose research centers on issues pertaining to educational measurement or psychometrics with application to educational settings.

Minimum Qualifications: 1) An earned doctorate in educational psychology or closely related field (e.g., educational methods, statistical methods, psychology). (2) Research focus in educational measurement or psychometrics with application to educational settings.

Preferred Qualifications: 1) Excellence, or the potential for excellence, in research. (2) Evidence or potential to establish a scholarly agenda related to educational measurement or psychometrics, which may be applicable to issues pertaining to diversity. (3) Evidence or potential for excellence in teaching at the collegiate level. (4) A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities. (5) Expertise in an area related to test theory, classroom assessment, classroom measurement, psychometrics, differential item functioning, and/or measurement invariance

Responsibilities: The successful candidate with be expected to teach courses related to educational and psychological measurement, and other courses related to the candidate’s area of specialization. The candidate will develop and maintain an active research agenda, advise master’s and doctoral students, and conduct appropriate service.
