POSITION: The College of Education, School of Educational Studies, Oklahoma State University is seeking an Assistant Professor in Educational Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activity and teach both graduate and undergraduate program courses. Specific courses taught will depend the candidate’s expertise and program needs and can encompass a variety of specialties within the educational technology field, including but not limited to classroom technology integration, instructional design, and online learning. Additional responsibilities will include supervising graduate students, cultivating the emerging national reputation of the EDTC program, and serving as an academic resource to the college, university, and regional communities. A normal teaching load is generally five courses per nine-­month academic year. This position is assigned to the Stillwater campus; however, given the appeal of and need for EDTC courses, faculty may also teach in an online or hybrid delivery format and occasionally on the Tulsa campus.

GENERAL INFORMATION: Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive land­grant university with an enrollment of more than 23,000 students. The university offers 86 programs of study leading to a bachelor’s degree, 70 master’s programs and 46 programs at the doctoral levels at campuses in Stillwater and Tulsa. Stillwater (http://stillwaterchamber.org) is approximately 65 miles from both the Tulsa and Oklahoma City metropolitan areas. EDTC courses serve undergraduate programs in the OSU Professional Education Unit. The program also offers a M.S. in Educational Technology with options in Educational Technology and School Library Media, a graduate Certificate in Online Teaching, and a Ph.D. in Education with an Educational Technology option. Additionally, the program facilitates the College’s T.E.C.H. Playground, a research/teaching lab focused on Transforming Education through Creative Habits.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications include an earned doctorate in a relevant area, a record of scholarly productivity commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience, and potential for excellence in teaching. Candidates will have expertise in theories, technologies, and methods associated with Educational Technology and/or Instructional Design as well as a demonstrated interest in the university’s land grant mission and a desire to make a positive impact on the community through scholarship, teaching a service.
