The College of Education and Human Services at West Virginia University (WVU) seeks applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Research Methods position with a start date of August 16, 2014.

Qualifications: Expertise in one or more specialized data analytic approaches such as structural equation modeling, hierarchical linear models, and robust (nonparametric) modeling; productive research agenda complementary to programs in the Department of Learning Sciences and Human Development (http://lshd.wvu.edu/); excellence in teaching research design and statistical methods courses for master’s and doctoral degree students, including incorporation of appropriate analytical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, HLM, M-plus, R) and some online delivery; an earned doctorate in a relevant field by the time of appointment; experience applying methodological expertise on externally funded projects; and expertise in measurement and instrument development, program evaluation, mixing methodologies, and research design for applied social settings.

Responsibilities: Teach graduate level introductory through advanced research design and statistical methods courses; advise graduate students while serving on doctoral and thesis committees; provide service to the department, college, university, state, and profession; collaborate with faculty colleagues on joint research projects; and, acquire external funding to support their research agenda.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
