As an Assistant Professor you will be employed in the Department of Education at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Utrecht University. The staff of the Department of Education provides the teaching of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Educational Sciences and the University Teacher Education Programme for Primary Education (ALPO), the one-year Master’s degree programme in Educational Sciences, the two year Master’s degree programme in Educational Sciences: Learning in Interaction (in collaboration with the Department of Special Education: Cognitive & Motor Disabilities), and the University Teacher Education Programmes for Secondary Education. All of these programmes are seeing a growing enrolment and specifically the Master’s degree programme in Educational Sciences and the teacher education programmes are in a process of renewal. The research programme of the Department, Education and Learning: Development in Interaction, is aimed at the regulation of interaction processes in learning and studies how this affects cognitive and social-emotional development of learners in both formal teaching situations (primary, secondary, and higher education) and professional settings. As an Assistant Professor, you will be combining research and teaching activities. Based on your expertise, you will be teaching a number of the above-mentioned programmes. Your research activities will be conducted within the research programme and you will participate in the national Interuniversity Centre for Educational Sciences (ICO). Tasks

Offer | |||
We offer a temporary full-time position for five years. Your salary will range from a minimum of €3,324 to a maximum of €5,171 per month based on a full-time appointment (i.e. salary scale 11/12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). In addition, we offer attractive and flexible secondary terms of employment such as an annual holiday pay of 8%, an end-of-year bonus of 8.3% per year and partially paid parental leave.
