Queens College seeks a Dean for its Division of Education, which consists of three departments – Elementary & Early Childhood Education, Secondary Education & Youth Services, and Educational & Community Programs – as well as five other teacher education programs, and is fully accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Candidates should qualify for appointment as full or associate professor in one of the divisional departments. The dean leads a highly diverse faculty and undergraduate/graduate student body. The mission of the division and the larger educational unit is to prepare compassionate professionals to work in diverse urban settings. The dean also has the opportunity for appointment to the doctoral faculty at the City University of New York Graduate Center.

The preferred candidate will have: (1) an earned doctorate in educational or related discipline; (2) a minimum of three years of administrative experience at the level of department chair, dean, or a comparable position; (3) a significant record of research and scholarship; (4) a strong record of obtaining external funding; and (5) experience in professional program review for accreditation.
