The Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology at Auburn University is hiring a department head. The department includes programs in Educational Research, Educational Psychology, Administration of Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Foundations of Education, Library Media and Educational Technology, and Adult Education.

Reporting directly to the dean of the College of Education, the department head holds a 12-month administrative appointment and is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of the department including oversight of academic programs, faculty review, course scheduling, budgeting, facilitating innovation, and supporting faculty, staff, and student professional learning. As a member of the College of Education leadership team, the department head serves on the college Leadership Council and Administrative Council and collaborates regularly with other department heads, directors, assistant and associate deans, and administrative staff to conduct the work of the unit. The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to lead EFLT at an exciting time in the department’s history.

The new department head will:
• contribute to planning the new College of Education building;
• implement a strategic plan that is aligned with university’s dynamic five-year plan—Inspire. Innovate. Transform. (http://ocm.auburn.edu/strategic_plan/);
• lead a dynamic faculty in the expansion of innovative programming; and
• support new college-level initiatives that connect impactful research to Auburn’s outreach mission, advance diversity and inclusion, and foster interdisciplinary collaborations.
