The Manchester University College of Pharmacy invites applications and nominations for the full-time, 12-month position of Assistant/Associate Dean for Assessment and Accreditation.  This individual will have the exciting opportunity to join a growing school of pharmacy and play a leadership role in the development of the organization.  The Assistant/Associate Dean will be responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of assessment and accreditation efforts across all academic and operational areas within the College.  This position reports to the Dean and is a member of the College’s Leadership Team.

The Assistant/Associate Dean will be responsible for the following:

  • Continually develop and promote a dynamic culture of assessment at the College.
  • Empower all employees to incorporate assessment principles and practices into their work to achieve the mission and goals of the College.
  • Lead the College’s efforts to continuously improve both educational outcomes and programmatic structures and processes.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to advance assessment practices across the University.
  • Lead the College in its processes to prepare for and maintain accreditation.
  • Engage in teaching, service, and scholarship at the College to inform and support the achievement of assessment responsibilities.

Qualified applicants will hold an advanced degree in a pharmacy- or health care-related field; or in education with an assessment background.  Prior assessment experience in higher education or pharmacy academia, a thorough knowledge of assessment theory and practice, and experience with external accreditation processes are required.  Candidates should have a record of academic teaching, scholarship, service, and clinical practice which will qualify for the rank of Associate Professor or higher.  Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership and management ability, a collaborative working philosophy, and a strong desire to develop and maximize the educational and operational outcomes of the College to help achieve its mission and goals.
