The Department of Counselor, Leadership, and Special Education at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a tenure track position in Counseling at the Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor level to begin Fall 2026 or until filled. This position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position.

Highly qualified applicants may be considered for Department Chair of Counseling, Leadership, and Special Education position as part of the interview process. The Chair position is a 12-month, full-time position with a reduced teaching load.

The Department of Counseling, Leadership, and Special Education offers undergraduate programs in special education and graduate programs in counseling, leadership, and special education. In particular, the Counselor Education Program area includes two CACREP accredited programs: the master’s programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling, as well as the Education Specialist programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling. A new concentration of Counseling Education within our Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program will started in Fall 2025.
