The University of Virginia (UVA) School of Education and Human Development is seeking 2-3 post-doctoral fellows to work with faculty at the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL). Natalia Palacios, Bob Pianta and/or Sara Rimm-Kaufman will be lead mentors for these incoming post-docs. The position is funded by an IES Training Grant, which means candidates will have rich opportunities to work with various faculty at UVA, including Allison Atteberry, Chris Chang-Bacon, Jason Downer, Jennie Grammer, Colby Hall, Lieny Jeon, Luke Miller, Natalia Palacios, Judith Paulick, Bob Pianta, Sara Rimm-Kaufman, Jim Soland, Emily Solari, Jessica Whittaker, Amanda Williford, and Vivian Wong. Each fellow will engage in a Research-Practice Partnership Experience.

The post-doctoral program focuses on the classroom and instructional contexts that support social and emotional development as well as behavioral and academic outcomes in children and youth. One in ten students in the U.S. are English Learners and fellows will have unique opportunities to focus on research related to this under-studied population. Specifically, we are interested in recent or upcoming doctoral graduates with expertise in developmental science, education science, or educational psychology.
