Dr. Logan Fiorella, an educational psychologist, and Dr. Paula Lemons, a biology education researcher, seek applicants for an NSF-funded postdoctoral fellowship position at the University of Georgia.

The postdoctoral fellow will explore ways of fostering cognitive engagement in biology courses through effective instructional design and/or the use of generative learning activities. The fellow will contribute to an ongoing project in this area and have an opportunity to lead their own independent project. Dr. Fiorella will serve as the primary mentor and Dr. Lemons will serve as a secondary mentor. Together they will provide interdisciplinary mentorship and training on the cognitive science of learning and instruction (Dr. Fiorella’s expertise), as well as instructional and assessment issues in biology education (Dr. Lemon’s expertise).

The start date for the position is as early as August 2024 and no later than Spring 2025. Review of applicants is ongoing and will continue until the position is filled.
