The UTHealth School of Public Health invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with the PI, Professor Roisin Corcoran, as well as a team of international collaborators, educators, clinicians, and experts on aspects of quantitative education research design, data collection, statistical analyses, meta-analyses, secondary data analyses, dissemination through scholarly publications and presentations, and the development of grant applications.

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quantitative expertise in the design, execution, and reporting of rigorous educational research studies and evaluations.  A major activity will entail developing proposals and plans of work for federal and foundation grants, and evaluation contracts with program developers, schools, school districts, and state agencies. A second major responsibility will be communicating with funders, federal monitors, key stakeholders, and school district personnel regarding project timelines. A third key role will be disseminating results in domains such as journal publications, policy briefings, research forums, webinars, and school or foundation board meetings.

Prior experience as a quantitative researcher in educational settings conducting rigorous research that meets the What Works Clearinghouse standards is strongly desired. The preferred candidate will bring expertise in evaluation and research design and methodology; working with large secondary data sets; a high degree of familiarity with K-12 education policies and conditions; exceptional communication, organizational, and management skills; experience with reporting and strong quantitative analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize and interpret data.

The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to collaborate on scholarly publications, participate in the preparation of research grants, and collaborate on aspects of active projects. The Fellow will work with the PI, Professor Roisin Corcoran.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Individuals must have a PhD, DrPH, or other doctoral degree in education, psychology, public health, health promotion, behavioral or social science
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
