The Vanderbilt Implementation Research Lab invites applications for a full-time, in-person Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. The fellow will join an interdisciplinary and collaborative research team focused on implementation science, special education, language development, and educational systems improvement. The position includes opportunities to support projects funded by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).

Our current projects include but are not limited to:

  • implementation science in education, communication sciences and disorders, and community-based settings
  • early childhood/early intervention and school-based programs and interventions
  • language and literacy, behavioral, and social development
  • education and special education policy
  • systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and evidence synthesis
  • juvenile justice, foster care, and education access

The fellow will contribute to ongoing projects, manuscripts, grant proposals, data analysis, project coordination, and collaborative research activities while receiving mentorship in grant writing, academic publishing, and career development. Fellows will have opportunities to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across education, psychology, public health, policy, communication sciences and disorders, and related fields.

Opportunities may also be available to support international collaborations and projects through Dr. Chow’s appointment and collaborative work with the National University of Singapore, including projects affiliated with the Centre for Holistic Initiatives for Learning and Development (CHILD), evidence synthesis initiatives, and other international collaborations focused on early learning, educator coaching, education policy, and evidence synthesis.

Candidates should have:

  • a PhD in education, psychology, communication sciences and disorders, implementation science, or a related field
  • strong writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • experience with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research
  • a strong interest in grant writing and academic research development
  • a strong desire to work on collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams
  • interest in gaining experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and research staff

Experience with implementation science, systematic reviews/meta-analysis, early intervention, education policy, advanced quantitative methods, translational research and knowledge dissemination/diffusion, and/or school/community-based research is preferred.
