We have an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher (PhD completed or near completion) to work with Professor Rob Klassen on a new 3-year ESRC-funded project titled ‘Rethinking teacher recruitment.’ The post will be located in the Psychology in Education Research Centre at the University of York.
The postdoc will have skills and experience in research design (including experimental and longitudinal designs), and knowledge of education technology, teacher education, and/or teacher recruitment.
In brief, the postdoc will be involved in:
(a) testing the impact of teacher recruitment messages (based on person-vocation fit and utility value theories)
(b) working with a team of researchers (game designer, software developer, graphic designer) to develop and test the efficacy of recruitment interventions (including ‘realistic job previews’ and ‘persuasive games’), and
(c) writing up multiple articles for publication in high-ranking journals in education, educational psychology, and educational technology
