Position Description

The Research Laboratory for Digital Learning in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to join in a multi-disciplinarily team to conduct school-based research on a statewide project emphasizing K-12 student engagement and social-emotional learning. The team is interested in investigating both students’ engagement and social-emotional factors in contexts where digital learning plays important roles. As a member of the research team, this Postdoctoral Scholar will lead the effort in communicating with schools and districts to build partnerships between schools and districts with the research laboratory. The Postdoctoral Scholar will also assist with research design, planning, as well as collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research data. Importantly, the Postdoctoral Scholar is also expected to contribute to the development and design of new research projects; participate in a program of grant writing; develop materials that support the translation and application of research to practice; contribute to papers submitted for publication in peer-reviewed journals; and develop presentations for scientific conferences. Desired qualifications

Candidates must possess a doctoral degree from an accredited university in educational psychology, learning sciences, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, or a related field before the starting date of the position. Advanced graduate students who expect to have their degree requirements completed by August 15, 2020 are encouraged to apply. The candidate must have considerable prior experience in working with K-12 schools and have research interests in examining students’ engagement and social-emotional factors; Must have expertise in school-based research through both quantitative and qualitative methods.
