Specialist, Learning Research: The Learning Research Specialist enhances the reach of the DECP team to focus on learning outcomes across Save the Children International and partner sites through supporting the implementation of the Literacy and Numeracy Boost assessments and International Development and Early Learning Assessment (IDELA), including data analysis and evaluation report writing. The Learning Research Specialist will build the capacity of US and country office staff to successfully measure and report on Literacy and Numeracy Boost, Emergent Literacy and Math (ELM) and related programming activities. In leading the assessment component, this role will consult on evaluation design and use statistical analysis methods to produce findings for evidence-based program design/improvement, and ensure timely feedback into programming. This position will be responsible for the dissemination of evaluation and research results to the Country Offices and the DECP team.

Senior Specialist, Learning Research: The Senior Specialist, Learning Research will support evidence-based programming and contribute to the implementation of Save the Children (SC) U.S.’s collaborations with other SC offices and partner organizations. The Senior Specialist will support capacity building across Country Office staff to successfully measure and report on children’s learning and development outcomes, and their relationships to related programming activities. In leading these assessment activities, they will consult on evaluation design and use quantitative and qualitative research methods as appropriate to produce findings and recommendations for evidence-based program design/improvement. The Senior Specialist will prepare and disseminate evaluation and research results to internal and external partners. They will also collaborate on support for the International Development Early Learning Assessment (IDELA) website.

Senior Director, Research, Evaluation, and Learning: The Senior Director of Research, Evaluation, and Learning is the lead strategist and point person for the Department of Education and Child Protection’s (DECP) research efforts in humanitarian and development settings. This position manages the research team (10 employees), and supports the other four units in DECP—Early Childhood Education (ECD), Basic Education (BE), Child Protection (CP), and School Health and Nutrition (SHN)—in research and evaluation efforts to build the evidence base for program impact at scale. Incumbent and team will expand Save the Children’s global understanding of education and child protection trends, and contribute to improving evaluation, documentation, credibility, and dissemination of Save the Children’s program results and policy initiatives. Incumbent also oversees the Save the Children University Partnerships for Education Research (SUPER), strategic partnerships with academic partners, and leads the presentation and publication of research findings from DECP to internal and external audiences. Incumbent defines, pursues, and raises funds for testing and evaluating the impact of Save the Children’s programming approaches on child, parent, and system outcomes, ensuring consistency and rigor across sites and advocating for the same in global measurement and evaluation dialogues.
