As part of our recently developed Strategic Plan and our enhanced commitment to research as an AAU member institution, the University of Missouri (MU) College of Education is committed to strengthening its focus on Educational Research, Statistics, Measurement, and Evaluation. We are searching for two individuals to fill tenure track faculty positions who share the College’s commitment to quality research, excellent teaching, exceptional service to students and the profession, and to continuous quality improvement in an environment of civility and respect. We anticipate hiring one assistant professor and one associate or full professor (with tenure). We plan to pursue additional faculty hires focusing on research design, data analysis, and measurement in the next five years consistent with our strategic priority to increase research capacity within the college.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Educational Research, Educational Measurement and Statistics, or a related field by the time of appointment (anticipated September 1, 2013) with an emphasis in quantitative analysis.
- Evidence of effective teaching of research, statistics, measurement, and/or evaluation courses at the graduate level.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity and strong potential for securing external research funding (successful funding for the advanced position).
- Ability to develop and sustain an independent program of scholarly research.
These positions will be housed in the Department of Educational, School, and Counseling Psychology (ESCP).

About the College: The College of Education (COE) is ranked among the top doctoral granting colleges of education in the country. Today, the College of Education has a student population of approximately 1,300 undergraduates and 1,600 graduate students with 88 tenured/tenure-track and 29 full-time non-tenure track faculty members. The COE recently completed a new strategic plan and is financially well positioned to invest in opportunities for innovative ideas in support of the plan. Annual expenditures for externally funded projects are approximately $12 million with funded projects in research, instruction and public service. Our research portfolio has increased significantly in recent years, and is poised for continued significant strategic growth.
