Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Education (SOE) invites applications for a tenure-track position focused on quantitative research methods. 

Position:  Associate or experienced Assistant Professor, nine-month tenure track position in the Department of Foundations of Education.

Responsibilities: Maintain an on-going program of methodological research; pursue and obtain external funding; teach intermediate and advanced courses in statistics, educational research, quantitative methods and/or mixed-methods; advise doctoral students in the Research and Evaluation PhD track; mentor doctoral student research; collaborate and consult with colleagues on methodological issues related to empirical research activities.

Qualifications:

Required: Earned doctorate in statistics, educational research, educational psychology or closely related field; an established research agenda and a record of refereed publications; a record of external funding with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications at the Associate level and clear potential for external funding to support research at the Assistant level; demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU; evidence of strong multi-level and/or latent variable analysis skills; experience teaching  statistics and/or quantitative research methods or related courses at the college level; demonstrated success in working with others on research projects.

Preferred:  Record of obtaining external funding; faculty experience with doctoral education; K-12 teaching experience.

Starting date:  August 16, 2012
