The Opportunity

The NC State College of Education invites applications and nominations for the Goodnight Distinguished Professor in Educational Innovation. We seek a prominent scholar with a unique and promising approach to the persistent challenges in education and who will continue to influence the field in the next decade and more. We are especially seeking a colleague who is collaborative in their work; who works to increase educational impact by linking research, policy and practice; and who will provide college-wide leadership in the development of research and academic programs or initiatives.

We welcome interest from scholars from a wide range of disciplines and theoretical traditions with preference given to those whose innovative work cuts across content knowledge domains and/or with expertise in more than one discipline or domain relevant to the NC State College of Education including but not limited to diversity, equity and access in education, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, literacy education and STEM, evidence-based education practices, and high impact leadership.

The Position

The inaugural Goodnight Professor will hold an appointment at the rank of professor with tenure in one of the three departments in the college (Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development; Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education; Teacher Education and Learning Sciences) and with the opportunity to be affiliated through scholarship and research with the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and/or the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research.
